Maysey Craddock is a painter and sculptor currently living and working in Memphis, Tn. Craddock received her BA in 1993 from Tulane University in New Orleans and her MFA in 2003 from Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine.

Since the mid-nineties, Craddock has supported herself through her art. Craddock has received a residency fellowship from the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, two residency grants from the Vermont Studio Center and two artist grants from the Louisiana Endowment for the Arts. Her work has been included in juried and curated exhibitions throughout the United States and in Germany, and is in many public and private collections, including the Brooks Museum of Art in Memphis, Tennessee.

Craddock’s watercolor and gouache paintings on sewn paper bags reflect the strength and promise that can be found in profound change and loss.

She is represented nationally by Nancy Margolis Gallery, New York; David Lusk Gallery, Memphis; Pan American Art Projects, Miami; Francine Seders Gallery, Seattle; and Koelsch Gallery, Houston. The year 2010 will see two scheduled solo exhibitions in Stuttgart, Germany and Memphis, Tennessee.
