Nancy Cheairs

Founder and Director of Flicker Street Studio

Teaches – Life Drawing and Painting, Watercolor,  Color Theory

Nancy Cheairs was born in Memphis, Tn. She earned her BFA degree from The Memphis College of Art in 1980 and MFA from the University of Memphis in 2007. She has shown her paintings in galleries throughout the country and is in many private, corporate and museum collections. She founded the Flicker Street Studio in January 2010. Elizabeth Alley

Instructor

Teaches - Drawing (focus on the sketchbook as a tool)

BFA University of Memphis, Memphis, TN

Elizabeth Alley was born in Memphis, TN, and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from the University of Memphis. In addition to being an artist, and spending over 11 years in Arts Administration, she is a Technical Writer, a retired Roller Derby girl, and she also sketches, makes lists, reads, crochets and runs.

Kate Bradley

Instructor

Teaches - Painting

BFA Auburn University, Auburn, AL

Kate has been drawing and painting all of her life. In high school she was a stand out artist among her peers and at Auburn University she won the Dean’s Choice Award for her work. Since beginning her portrait career in 2008, Kate’s work has been featured in a prestigious portrait magazine and she was selected as one of the top ten young artists in a museum exhibition in Memphis, TN. Kate’s work can be found in the permanent collections of the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge and the Liberal Arts College of Auburn University and she has been commissioned to paint portraits for numerous private collections.

Colleen Couch-Smith

Colleen was born in Memphis but raised in Mississippi (Nesbit & Hernando). In addition to teaching at Flicker Street Studio, she also helps manage Tsunami restaurant, one of Memphis’ best local spots. Learn more about Colleen.

Maysey Craddock

Teaches – Wire Sculpture and Miniature Painting with Gouache

Maysey Craddock is a painter and sculptor currently living and working in Memphis, Tn. Craddock received her BA in 1993 from Tulane University in New Orleans and her MFA in 2003 from Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine. Learn more about Maysey.

Melissa Dunn

Melissa Dunn is a native Memphian who has exhibited paintings and drawings locally and regionally for over ten years. She has worked on two large-scale public mural projects, is a published illustrator, and has worked in the in art department on several feature films. Learn more about Melissa.

Mary Jo Karimnia

Teaches – Mosaic Workshop

Mary Jo Karimnia has a degree in painting and drawing from Stephen F Austin State University. She paints, draws and collects things to make mosaics in Memphis with work at the Botanic Garden, LeBoneur Children’s Hospital, L Ross Gallery and Lisa Kurts Gallery. Learn more about Mary Jo.

Friedrich Kerksieck

Friedrich Kerksieck has a degree in Book Arts from the University of Alabama. He is the owner Small Fires Press, an independent press that publishes Matchbook, a literary journal, as well as well as a selection of letterpressed prints & chapbooks, & a smattering of random printed material. He has shown his material across the United States.

Anna Wunderlich

Teaches – Kids Art After School and Art for Kids

BA Studio Art and Art History College of Charleston, Charleston, SC

Anna has taught art for 7 years in the Memphis City Schools and the Hutchison School. She is currently a stay at home mom for her two boys, and she paints in her studio.  Her most recent show was a group exhibition in December at Theatre Memphis. Learn more about Anna.
